Writing and promoting your article masterpiece.

Articles are a great way to promote your business and yourself!
Your article submission to a single ezine can generate alot of
traffic to your web site. Writing an article is one thing and
quite different from publishing it to a directory or ezine.
Write about something you are familiar with and try to limit your
words to 1000 words or less. Give your article an eye catching
title, something to attract readers.
When you are writing your article, be aware of these tips .
Not everyone will accept your article because of their submission
guidelines. Some limit articles to 500 words and some will go
as high as 1500 words. Your word processor will keep count for
you and be sure to include the total amount in you resource box.
Proofread and check the spelling of your finished work before
submitting.
Formatting your article is pretty much standard at 60 characters
per line. I publish my ezine at 55 characters just in case some
lines happen to be cut off. My mail program does not always cooperate
with me. It's better to be safe than have an article that is very
good but the format is way out of line. I reformat plenty of articles
because I choose to keep the limit to 55 characters. I accept
other formatting because the content is extremely good.. Other
ezine publishers may not.
Your resource box is your identification and must include the
title of your article, when you composed it, your name, or company
name and address, or email and website url. Something on the order
of: "This article may be published if the resource box is
included and you email me where and when it will be run."
A courtesy copy would also be appreciated." This goes immediately
after your article with some sort of separation line before and
after the resources. Usually six lines of content for the resource
box is the limit. (See my resource box below.)
Be sure you submit your article to the proper category if there
is one. And write "Article Submission" in your subject
line if you send by email. A short intoduction is proper telling
the publisher who you are and why your article may benefit their
readers. But be brief. Thank him/her for considering your piece
and to pass it to other publshers if the content is not what they
want.
Suppose an ezine of 1000 subscribers receives your article. Only
a small percentage of them will actually read your article, and
a smaller percentage will click on the link to your website, but
these are potential customers.
So..go ahead, write an article and pull in the customers!
