Design Award Tips
Here a few tips on how (or how not to) win the Groundzero Design Award. Remember that your site does not have to be perfect and along with the criteria this should be used as a guideline for submission. If you are serious about winning this award (or any quality award) then remember that originality counts, and that hard work and effort is usually rewarded.

What we don't like :
- pornography, racism, sexist, hate, warez and offensive pages.
- comet cursor, gator, forced downloads, adware, etc.
- pop-up windows (not including newsletter sign-ups).
- bad spelling and grammar.
- 404 errors, broken internal links and broken images.
- more than 3 under construction pages.
- coding errors and browser crashing.
- copyright infringements.
- music and/or sound with no off switch.
- full screen browser windows with no tool bars or borders.
- excessive advertising and multiple pop-ups.
- hard to read, very small, clashing color or blinking text.
- requiring the download of nonstandard plug-ins.
- pop-up and pop-under website exchanges.

Design Award Notes :
- winners must display our award image.
- browser crashing and forced full screen = disqualification.
- sites hosted on free servers will be given less consideration.
- the same applies to sites without their own domain name.
- web design companies and award programs are welcome.
- allow 4 months before reapplying for this award.
- awards won can be revoked without notice.

Before posting your winners page here @ Groundzero, you must display our award image on your site with a link pointing back to Groundzero. Your site will be viewed using Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox on Windows XP, with a 1024 x 768 pixel screen resolution, using a DSL connection. Plug-ins include Flash, with Java and Javascript enabled.
