Icon Archive (Web/Desktop)
Icon Archive hosts a growing and categorized collection of quality desktop and web icon sets for Windows, Linux and Mac operating systems, ranging from social media and video game collections to flag and computer icons. Available in ICO, ICNS and PNG formats, you are able to use these images for a range of purposes other than on your desktop. For example, in most cases the sizes of PNG icons come in 16×16, 32×32, 48×48, 128×128 and 256×256 pixels with transparent backgrounds, allowing you to use as clip art or web images for you to manipulate digitally with your graphic software of choice.
I happen to know someone that coincidentaly looks like me and answers to my name who used famous video game character heads downloaded from Icon Archive, and put them onto a promotional photo of teen sensations The Jonas Brothers, replacing said brothers heads with a few Nintendo legends heads for a blog post. It looked pretty cool if I do say so myself, but to look at this site as just a web icon resource instead of a web graphic resource is to seriously overlook and under use it.
